The Job Show Reaches Hundreds of Residents and Visitors Eager for New Opportunity

Hundreds of residents and visitors showed up at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday 10 October hoping to secure their dream career at The Job ShowTM, a national recruitment event that has toured the country.

This year’s event, which was supported by the West London Alliance, Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation and Segro, kicked off at 11am.

Many grasped the opportunity to speak directly with recruiters and educational representatives about their future plans and impress enough to bag one of the live job opportunities on offer.

Several exhibitors booked in follow-up interviews with talented job seekers, in the hope of filling vacant positions, whilst others signed up many attendees to their further education courses and apprenticeship schemes.

The upbeat atmosphere was echoed throughout the day.

Cllr. Amer Agha, Cabinet Member for Employment and Skills for Brent Council, said:

“It’s great that we’ve been able to support this event. The Job ShowTM gives our residents a helping-hand with securing the careers they want and at the same time offers some great advice to those considering their options.

This event is valuable to helping uplift our community and supporting residents on their journey whether it’s through employment or onto further education or an apprenticeship.”

Cllr. Muhammed Butt, Leader of Brent Council and on behalf of West London Alliance, said:

“The event was a huge success. It is fantastic that over 60 West London businesses took the time out to go to Wembley to look for talented people to join them, like Hyperoptic, training and skilling individuals to have a future in technology and equally to showcase what they can offer in return.

“West London is an exciting vibrant region and we need to continue working together to ensure it continues to grows and thrive in the future.”

Caroline Connaughton Managing Director, The Job ShowTM, said:

”We are delighted The Job ShowTMWembley made such a positive social impact throughout the community – A big thankyou to West London Alliance, Segro and  Old Oak and Park Royal for their valuable support we very much look forward to returning next year.”
